Learn how to configure your connected Facebook Messenger channel settings

Accessing connected Facebook Messenger channel

You can follow the steps below to access your connected Facebook Messenger channels:

  1. Click the icon on the left navigation bar to go to the “Channel” page
  2. Select “Facebook Messenger”
  3. You will find the connected Facebook Messenger channel in the channel settings page

Once you are in the Facebook Messenger channel settings page, you will find 2 main columns:

 

1. Account

  • You will find all the connected Facebook Messenger channels in this column.
  • The account name is a display name for identifying the channel across different modules in SleekFlow. It does not necessarily reflect the actual Facebook page name.
  • Under the account name, you will find the Page ID of the connected Facebook page, which is a unique identifier for the Facebook page.
     

2. Status

  • You will find the connection status of the Facebook page and SleekFlow platform.
  • We currently have 2 statuses, including:
    • Connected: When it is connected, you can send and receive messages from and to your customers on SleekFlow via the Facebook Messenger channel.
    • Disconnected: When it is disconnected, you won’t be able to send or receive messages from and to your customers. There are a variety of factors that may lead to the disconnection. Here are some potential causes:
      • You may have changed the two-factor authentication settings on Facebook
      • You may have updated the account password on Facebook.
        To resolve this, you can try reconnecting the channel by following the guide. If the problem persists, please contact our support team via cs@sleekflow.io.

 

Managing connected Facebook Messenger channels

You can rename or remove the channels from the Facebook Messenger channel settings page.
 

Renaming a channel

The account name is only a display name used to identify a channel across SleekFlow modules. Renaming it in SleekFlow does not affect the page name displayed on Facebook.

 

 

You can follow the steps below to rename a channel:

  1. In the Facebook Messenger channel settings page, find the Facebook page you would like to rename
  2. Click on the icon and select “Rename”

     
  3. Rename the channel in the “Channel name” text box

     
  4. Click “Save” and your channel name will be updated

 

Removing a channel

This action is irreversible and may affect other services in SleekFlow (e.g. Flow Builder). Please proceed with caution.

 

 

  1. In the Facebook messenger channel settings page, find the Facebook page you would like to remove
     
  2. Click on the icon and select “Remove”

     
  3. A warning window will appear. Click “Remove” to confirm the action

     
  4. Your Facebook Messenger channel will be removed from your SleekFlow account
