The “Outgoing email sent trigger” starts a flow after an outbound email is sent through a selected SleekFlow Email channel. Use this trigger to update customer information, notify your team, or start a follow-up workflow after sending an email.
This is a dedicated Email trigger. It is separate from the Outgoing message sent trigger used for messaging channels.
Before setting up this trigger, make sure your workspace has at least one connected and available Email account. Learn more about connecting an Email account to SleekFlow in our Help Center article.
Outgoing email sent
The Outgoing email sent trigger activates after an eligible outbound email is sent through the selected Email account. Only Email channels can be selected.
Common use cases include:
- Schedule a follow-up: Start a follow-up process after an agent sends a proposal, quotation, or support response.
- Update customer information: Update a Contact property, add a label, or change an internal status after an email is sent.
- Notify your team: Alert another team or user when an important outbound email has been sent.
- Record email engagement: Add actions that help your team track outbound email activity and manage the next steps.
Set up the “Outgoing email sent” trigger node
Follow these steps to configure the trigger node:
- In Advanced Flow Builder, create a new flow or open an existing flow that you can edit.
- Open the trigger selection panel and select Outgoing email sent.
- Click the trigger node to open its configuration panel on the right side of the screen.
- The node form contains the following fields for you to set up the trigger:
- In Email channel, select the connected Email account that the flow should monitor.
- Add the actions that should run after an eligible outbound email is sent. For example, you can:
- Update a Contact property
- Add a label
- Notify a team member
- Add a time delay before a follow-up action
- Complete the rest of the flow, then publish it.
After the flow is published, eligible outbound emails sent through the selected Email account can start the flow. You can review each execution in the Flow Builder execution logs.
Warning: Be careful when adding an email-sending action after this trigger. This configuration may repeatedly start another flow execution if the outgoing email also meets the trigger conditions.
If the selected Email account becomes unavailable
Only connected and available Email accounts can be selected when you configure the trigger. Disconnected accounts, accounts that require reauthorization, deleted accounts, and non-Email channels are not available for selection.
If the selected Email account later becomes disconnected or requires reauthorization, users cannot send emails from that account through SleekFlow. New outbound email events from the account will not start the flow until the connection is restored.
Reconnect or reauthorize the Email account to resume sending and allow future eligible outbound emails to start the flow.
