SleekFlow charges for SMS, MMS, and Voice usage based on the channels you use. Depending on your setup, your total charges may include:
- SMS or MMS messaging usage
- Incoming and outgoing voice call usage
- Monthly phone number fees
- Mobile carrier or network surcharges
- Optional Voice features, where applicable
Usage charges are deducted from your SleekFlow wallet. Rates vary by country, message or call direction, number type, destination, and mobile carrier.
SMS and MMS billing units
SMS and MMS are billed differently. SMS is measured in segments, while MMS is measured as full messages.
- SMS (per segment):
- SMS is broken into segments depending on length:
- 1 segment = up to 160 characters (GSM standard)
- or up to 70 characters if emojis or non-Latin text are used
- Longer messages are split into multiple segments, and each segment is billed separately
- SMS is broken into segments depending on length:
Example:
- A 300-character SMS in English = 2 segments (billed twice)
- A 300-character SMS with emojis is split into more segments, since each segment is capped at 70 characters
ℹ️ The character count shown in the message composer may represent one message, while billing is based on the number of SMS segments it generates.
- MMS (per message):
- MMS is billed as one unit per message, regardless of text length or media included. Unlike SMS, MMS is not split into segments.
Factors that affect pricing
The cost of a message is also influenced by its direction and whether it is delivered successfully.
- Message direction:
- Outbound messages: You pay for every message you send (SMS segments or MMS messages).
- Inbound messages: Messages received from customers are also billed. Inbound rates are usually lower but apply to both SMS and MMS.
- Delivery status:
- Delivered messages: Charged normally once handed off to the carrier.
-
Failed messages: If a message fails to deliver (e.g. invalid number, unreachable device), a failed message processing fee may apply. This fee is typically lower than the standard message rate and depends on the carrier.
- ℹ️ Processing fees only apply when the carrier has already attempted delivery and returned an error status.
Carrier fees
In addition to SleekFlow’s standard SMS and MMS rates, some mobile carriers add their own surcharges. These are billed per message or per segment, depending on whether the message is SMS or MMS.
- When they apply: Carrier fees can be charged on both outbound and inbound messages.
- Why they vary: The fee depends on the destination country, the recipient’s mobile carrier, and their policies.
- How they appear: Carrier fees are listed separately from SleekFlow’s message costs in your invoice.
- Calculation basis: The fee is determined by the recipient’s carrier, not the sender.
💡 Carrier fees differ across networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon) and are applied on top of SleekFlow’s base rates.

Voice call pricing
How Voice billing works
Please note prices are shown in USD. Voice rates may change without prior notice.
-
Call direction: Voice pricing depends on whether the call is incoming or outgoing.
- Incoming calls: The rate usually depends on the type of phone number receiving the call, such as local, mobile, national, or toll-free.
- Outgoing calls: The rate usually depends on the country and type of number being called, such as landline, mobile, toll-free, or a specific geographic region.
Voice rates are listed per minute, but calls may be billed using a minimum duration and fixed increments after that. For example:
- 10 + 10 seconds: The first 10 seconds are charged, followed by additional 10-second increments.
- 30 + 10 seconds: The first 30 seconds are charged, followed by additional 10-second increments.
- 60 + 10 seconds: The first 60 seconds are charged, followed by additional 10-second increments.
Example (10 + 10 second billing):
- A 7-second connected call is billed as 10 seconds.
- A 16-second connected call is billed as 20 seconds.
- A 36-second connected call is billed as 40 seconds.
Example (30 + 10 second billing):
- A 12-second connected call is billed as 30 seconds.
- A 34-second connected call is billed as 40 seconds.
- A 63-second connected call is billed as 70 seconds.
Example (60 + 10 second billing):
- A 45-second connected call is billed as 60 seconds.
- A 65-second connected call is billed as 70 seconds.
- A 92-second connected call is billed as 100 seconds.
Note: Only connected call time is billable. If a call is not answered, is rejected, or the line is busy, no voice usage charge applies.

Phone number fees
An active SMS or Voice phone number has a recurring monthly fee, in addition to messaging and call usage.
- The fee is charged for each active phone number you keep.
- The amount depends on the country and number type.
- It appears as a recurring charge on your invoice, separate from messaging and call usage.
- A phone number continues to incur its monthly fee even if no messages or calls are made.
Note: If a phone number supports both SMS and Voice, the monthly phone number fee is charged only once. You will not be charged a separate monthly fee for each capability.

- Call recording
- Recording storage
- Call transcription
- Voice SDK connectivity
The exact charges appear in the SMS and Voice wallet usage summary.
Note: If the AI summary feature is enabled for Voice calls, it does not consume SleekFlow AI credits as it is powered by Twilio Voice Intelligence rather than SleekFlow’s AI engine.
Note: SMS and Voice charges are deducted from the same wallet balance. You can view your balance, add credits, and manage wallet settings from the SMS and Voice wallet page.

Pricing examples
A few worked examples show how SMS, Voice, and phone number charges come together.

- The message contains 2 SMS segments.
- Outbound base rate: $0.001955 per segment.

An outbound call to a Hong Kong mobile number stays connected for 36 seconds.
- Billing increment: 10 + 10 seconds.
- Billable duration: 40 seconds (the 36-second call rounds up to the next 10-second block).

Example 3: Keeping an unused number active
A workspace keeps one Singapore local number active for the full billing month but doesn't make or receive any calls.
- Monthly number fee: $7.935.
- Call usage: $0.
