Connecting WeChat Official to SleekFlow

Understand the prerequisites and steps needed to connect your WeChat account

Connect your WeChat account with SleekFlow to see and reply to messages in your team inbox. 

Prerequisites before connecting your WeChat account to SleekFlow

To connect a WeChat Service Account to SleekFlow, please note the following:

  • Supported account type: SleekFlow supports integration exclusively with WeChat Official Accounts (公众号), specifically Service Accounts (服务号). These accounts must be verified by WeChat, meeting their verification requirements. If you have not created a WeChat Official Account, please register a "Service Account 服务号" here.
  • Unsupported account types: Other WeChat account types, such as Enterprise WeChat (企业微信), are not currently supported by SleekFlow.
  • Single account connection: You can connect only one WeChat Official Account per SleekFlow account. This integration supports a single set of webhooks configured within the WeChat dashboard.
 

 

Connecting your WeChat account to SleekFlow

There are 2 major steps you will need to complete to connect your WeChat account to SleekFlow:

  1. Gather the required information from WeChat Official Account Platform Settings
  2. Connecting the WeChat channel on SleekFlow

 

Gather the information required from WeChat Official Account Platform Settings

Here are the information that will be required to retrieve from your WeChat Official Account Platform Settings page:

  1. App ID
  2. App Secret
  3. Configure Whitelist IP address
  4. Download QR code

 

Retrieve App ID

You can follow the steps below to retrieve your App ID:

  1. Sign in to WeChat Official Account Platform
  2. Click 「開發接口管理」 (API Management) under「 設置與開發」 (Settings and Development) on the left-sided panel, and go to the WeChat Developers Platform (微信開發者平台).
    1. Alternatively, you can access the WeChat Developers Platform directly at: https://developers.weixin.qq.com/platform


       
  3. You will be required to log in with an Admin account, which has already completed real-name verification (實名認證)
  4. Click 服務號 (Service account) 

     
  5. Copy and store this AppID, which will be used in the later steps.

 

Retrieve App Secret

You can follow the steps below to retrieve your App Secret

  1. Once you have landed in the 「服務號頁面」(Service Account) page, you will be able to find information including App ID and App secret
  2. Enable 消息推送 (Message push)  and you can find URL/Token and regenerate EncondingAESKey 
  3. After 「消息推送」 (Message Push) is enabled, you can configure the URL, Token, and EncodingAESKey settings.
    1. You do not need to fill in the URL and Token yet. You will copy these values from SleekFlow’s Connect WeChat page in a later step.

 

Configure Whitelist IP address

You will need to add SleekFlow’s IP address to WeChat’s configuration. You can follow the steps below: 

  1. Return to the WeChat “Basic Configuration | 基本配置” page, and click “View | 查看” under the IP whitelist section.
  2. Add (by clicking “Modify | 修改”) the following SleekFlow IP address to the whitelist:
  3. You will need to check and copy your SleekFlow’s IP address. Sign in to SleekFlow.
  4. After signing in, hover your mouse pointer over the SleekFlow logo at the top left. Then, you will see the name of the server that is hosting your account
  5. Find and copy the IP address for different server locations: https://github.com/SleekFlow/platform/blob/main/README.md
  6. Paste the IP address to the “IP whitelist configurations | IP白名單設置” module and confirm the changes
  7. Finally, verify your identity by scanning the QR code displayed on the webpage once again.

 

Download QR Code

You can find your QR code on Settings | 设置  -> Account Info | 公众号设置. Press Download QR code |下载二维码 and choose 8cm. 



 

⚠️ Important:

  1. Keep the WeChat Official Account Platform open while completing the connection. You will need to fill in information to WeChat in later steps. 
  2. Please reconfirm your configuration for WeChat custom menu is completed before proceeding to the following step. The custom menu configuration will not be accessible on WeChat Official Account Platform after step 2 unless disconnecting with SleekFlow. 
 

 

Connecting your WeChat channel on SleekFlow

Once you have gathered the required information from your WeChat account, you can follow the steps below to continue connecting your WeChat channel on SleekFlow:

  1. Go to SleekFlow “Channels” page by clicking on the icon on the left navigation bar
  2. Select “WeChat” on the left-side menu to go to the “WeChat channel” page
  3. Click “Connect” on the top right corner of the screen
  4. You will be redirected to the “Connect WeChat” page


     
  1. Enter the following details on the page:
    1. Channel name
      Specify the name of the WeChat channel. This name will be used internally only and will not be visible to your customers
    2. App ID
      Paste the App ID retrieved from WeChat Official Account Platform
    3. App Secret
      Paste the App Secret retrieved from WeChat Official Account Platform
    4. QR code
      Upload the QR code downloaded from WeChat Official Account Platform
  2. Click “Next” to continue 
  3. Next, you will need to copy and paste the following information back to WeChat Official Account Platform. Please keep this page open until you have connected the channel. 
  4. Go to back to "Basic Configuration | 基本配置" >> “Development | 开发”. On the same page, click the “修改配置 | Change Configuration” button to open the Configuration menu.
  5. Copy the Webhook URL and Verification Token from the SleekFlow platform, then paste them into the corresponding fields on the WeChat “Basic Configuration | 基本配置” page.
    1. Log in to SleekFlow and hover over the SleekFlow icon in the top-left corner to check your data center.
    2. Replace only the beginning of the URL with the base URL that matches your data center:
      1. eastasia: https://api.sleekflow.io/
      2. southeastasia: https://sleekflow-core-app-seas-production.azurewebsites.net/
      3. eastus: https://sleekflow-core-app-eus-production.azurewebsites.net/
      4. westeurope: https://sleekflow-core-app-weu-production.azurewebsites.net/
      5. uaenorth: https://sleekflow-core-app-uaen-production.azurewebsites.net/
    3. Example:
      1. If your data center is eastasia: https://api.sleekflow.io/wechat/webhook/471a6289b9b743c3b6ac-395a1992baea
      2. If your data center is uaenorth: https://sleekflow-core-app-uaen-production.azurewebsites.net/wechat/webhook/471a6289b9b743c3b6ac-395a1992baea
    4. ℹ️ Note: Do not change anything after /wechat/. The full path must remain unchanged for the webhook to work.
  6. After you copy the URL and Token from SleekFlow’s Connect WeChat page, return to the WeChat Developers Platform and paste them into the corresponding fields under Message Push (消息推送).

  7. Click “Submit” to save the settings. Once succeeded, a green message should appear.

    You need to enable these changes to ensure messages are forwarded to the platform. Click the green “Enable | 启用” button. Once enabled, the button will turn red and display “Disable | 停用.”

     
     
  8. Return to SleekFlow, click “Done” at the bottom of the page. 
  9. Your account has been successfully connected! Any messages sent to your WeChat Official Account will now appear in your SleekFlow Inbox.
