Note: Email is currently in beta. You are required to turn on this feature in Feature preview to start using.

Email lets your team receive and manage customer emails directly in SleekFlow Inbox alongside channels such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and WeChat.

At the moment, Email is designed primarily for inbound support and one-to-one customer communication. You can use it to handle customer inquiries, support requests, and ongoing email threads. It is not intended for email marketing, newsletters, or broadcast messages.

Each email thread appears as its own conversation row in Inbox. Email threads remain separate from other channel conversations belonging to the same contact, making it easier for your team to follow the context of each email topic.

How Email is organized in SleekFlow

SleekFlow uses the following terms to describe different parts of the Email experience:

Term

What it means

Email account

An email account connected to SleekFlow. You can connect your Microsoft 365 or Outlook email to SleekFlow.

SleekFlow email address

A free email address provided by SleekFlow. You can customize your SleekFlow email address.

Email conversation

The Email conversation associated with a contact in Inbox. Refer to this section for more details.

Email message

One inbound or outbound email shown as a card inside the conversation.

Synced emails

Emails imported from a connected email account.

In Inbox, a contact can have an Email conversation alongside conversations from other channels. Each email message appears as a separate card inside the Email conversation.

What Email supports

Supported email accounts

You can use Email in SleekFlow with:

Account type

Connection method

Outlook or Microsoft 365

Connect securely with Microsoft

SleekFlow-provided address

Claim an address without OAuth or DNS setup

The SleekFlow email address lets your workspace send and receive emails without connecting an external account.

After claiming the address, you can share it with customers to start receiving emails in Inbox.

How Email conversations appear in Inbox

After you have enabled Email in Feature preview, Inbox organizes conversations by contact and channel.

A contact can have separate conversations for Email, WhatsApp, Facebook, and other channels. Emails exchanged with the same contact appear as individual cards inside the contact’s Email conversation, even when the emails have different subjects.

Each email card shows the content and details of one inbound or outbound email.

You can select “Email” from the channel filter to view Email conversations only. The filter applies to all Email channels and cannot filter by an individual email account.

When Inbox is filtered by Email, conversations are sorted by the latest email activity, with the most recently updated conversation shown first.

View email messages

Email messages appear as stacked cards inside a conversation.

An email card can show:

  • Sender and recipients
  • Cc recipients
  • Bcc recipients for emails sent by your team
  • Subject
  • Timestamp
  • Message content
  • Attachments

Email replies may include content quoted from earlier messages. Click “Show quoted text” to expand it and “Hide quoted text” to collapse it.

Attachments appear on the relevant email card. If the email account needs to be reconnected before an attachment can be retrieved, SleekFlow displays “Reconnect to view”.

Reply to an email

You can reply to a specific email from its card.

To reply:

  1. Open the Email conversation.
  2. Find the email card you want to respond to.
  3. Click “Reply” to respond to the sender, or “Reply all” to include the other recipients.
  4. Write your response in the email composer.
  5. Click “Send”.

The composer opens from the selected email card instead of the standard message input at the bottom of Inbox.

Your draft is visible only to you until it is sent.

You can use the formatting toolbar to:

  • Format text using bold, italic, underline, or strikethrough
  • Add bulleted lists, numbered lists, or quotes
  • Change the font, font size, text color, or highlight color
  • Add links, images, emojis, or attachments
  • Undo, redo, or clear formatting

Forward an email

You can forward an email from its card.

Open the email card’s menu and select:

  • “Forward” to forward the email from the current conversation
  • “Forward as new email thread” to create a separate email thread

Add internal notes

Use internal notes to share information with other workspace members without sending it to the customer.

The Internal note composer appears in the sticky footer at the bottom of the Email conversation.

This footer is used only for internal notes and contacts will not be able to view internal notes.

Original email headers

Email headers contain technical information about how an email was sent and delivered. They include details such as the sending server, routing path, timestamps, and authentication checks.

You can select “View original email” by clicking the icon within an email thread to inspect the original email headers, including authentication and routing details.

From the dialog, you can:

  • Click “Copy to clipboard” to copy the headers
  • Click “Download .EML” to download the email

This information can help troubleshoot delivery, formatting, routing, or authentication issues.

What Email does not support at the moment

At the moment, Email does not support:

  • Manual IMAP or SMTP connections
  • Custom email domains or DNS setup
  • Email signatures, templates, broadcasts, or unsubscribe management
  • Filtering Inbox by individual email accounts
  • Email analytics
  • Email triggers or actions in Flow Builder
  • Starting a new email from the general send via channel selector

Email is currently designed for inbound support and one-to-one email conversations in Inbox.

Pricing

You can connect an Email channel to SleekFlow at no additional cost. Connected email accounts still count toward your workspace's channel connection quota.

Every workspace also includes a SleekFlow email address that can send and receive emails without additional setup.

Your plan affects whether you can customize the SleekFlow email address:

  • Paid plan workspaces can customize the address prefix.
  • Free plan workspaces cannot customize the address.

After you change the address prefix successfully, you cannot change it again for 168 hours, or 7 days.

Monthly active contact usage

Email conversations may count toward your monthly active contact (MAC) usage. When a contact starts their first email thread during a billing period, the contact is counted as a MAC.

To learn more about how MAC usage is calculated, see Monthly active contacts overview.

Note: Connecting an Email channel is free, but contacts who interact with your workspace through Email may still count toward your MAC usage.

Frequently asked questions

When can I reply to an email conversation?

Email does not have a fixed reply window like WhatsApp. You can reply as long as the email account is connected, the email address is active, and you have permission to send messages.

Will changing a contact's assignee or status affect their other conversations?

Yes. A contact's assignee and status are shared across their conversations. Changes made from an Email conversation may also affect the contact's conversations on other channels.
