By connecting Instagram to SleekFlow, you can view and reply to Instagram messages directly from your SleekFlow Inbox. This helps your team manage Instagram conversations in the same place as your other messaging channels.

Instagram professional accounts are managed through Meta, so SleekFlow connects to your Instagram account through the Facebook Page and Meta Business Portfolio it belongs to. Set these up before you connect.

Before you start

To connect Instagram, you need:

• An Instagram Business account. Personal accounts can’t be connected to SleekFlow.
• The Instagram account linked to a Facebook Page. Meta shares your Instagram account with SleekFlow through this Page. If they aren’t linked, no Instagram account is connected.
• “Allow access to messages” turned on in the Instagram app. Without it, SleekFlow can’t receive your Instagram messages.
• The Instagram account added to your Meta Business Portfolio. This lets Meta recognize the account as part of your business.
• Full control of the Meta Business Portfolio and the linked Facebook Page. Without full control, your Instagram account mWhen you start connecting, SleekFlow asks you to confirm each item. Use the sections below to check or set them up.

Add your Instagram account to your Meta Business Portfolio

If your Instagram account isn’t in your Meta Business Portfolio yet, add it first. This lets Meta recognize the account as part of your business before you connect it to SleekFlow.

1. In Meta Business Settings, go to Accounts > Instagram accounts.
2. Once you have logged in, click on the “+ Add” button on the top right corner and click “Add Instagram Account”

Link your Instagram account to a Facebook Page

Your Instagram Business account must be linked to a Facebook Page. Meta shares your Instagram account with SleekFlow through this Page, so if they aren’t linked, the connection fails.

If you don’t have a Facebook Page yet, create one first.

You can link the Page from the Instagram app or from Facebook.

Option 1: In the Instagram app

1. Open the Instagram mobile app.
2. Go to your Profile.
3. Tap “Edit Profile”.
4. Under “Public business information”, tap “Page”.
   
5. On the “Connect to Facebook” screen, tap “Login to Facebook”.
   
6. Review the Facebook account that will be used to connect the Page. Tap “Continue” to use it, or tap “Switch Facebook account” to use a different one.
   
7. On the “Connect your Facebook Page” screen, select the Facebook Page you want to connect, then tap “Connect”.

If you don’t see your Page, make sure you have full control of the Page.

Option 2: On Facebook

1. On Facebook, switch to your Page.
2. Go to “Settings & privacy” > “Settings”.
3. Select “Linked accounts”, then “Instagram”.
4. Click “Connect account” and follow the steps on screen.

Turn on “Allow access to messages” 

SleekFlow can only receive your Instagram messages if “Allow access to messages” is turned on in your Instagram app.

1. Open your Instagram mobile app and log in to your Instagram Business account.
2. Tap your profile picture in the bottom right corner, then tap the menu icon in the top right corner to open “Settings and activity”.
3. Under “How others can interact with you”, tap “Messages and story replies”.
   
4. Select “Message request”.
   
5. Turn on “Allow access to messages”.
   

Connecting Instagram to SleekFlow

To connect your Instagram account, you can follow the steps below:

1. Click the in the left navigation bar to go to the “Channels” page.
2. Select “Instagram”, then click “Connect” in the top right corner.
3. Under “Set up on Instagram”, confirm the three items about your Instagram app. Your Instagram account is a Business account, “Allow access to messages” is turned on, and your account is linked to a Facebook Page. Then click “Next”.
   
4. Under “Set up on Meta”, confirm the two items about your Meta settings. Your Instagram account is added to a Meta Business Portfolio, and you have full control of the portfolio and the linked Facebook Page.
   
5. Click “Connect via Meta”. A pop-up window opens so you can continue the setup in Meta.
6. Sign in to the Facebook account connected to your Instagram account.
7. Select the Facebook Page linked to your Instagram account, then select your Instagram account and click “Continue”.
8. Grant all required permissions to SleekFlow, then click “Save” to complete the connection.
