Voice call is currently in limited release. Feature availability and details may change before general release. If your workspace has access, a workspace admin can enable it from Feature previews.

Overview

Connect your Twilio number lets you use phone numbers you already own on Twilio to power voice calling in your SleekFlow workspace. Instead of purchasing new numbers through SleekFlow, you can connect your existing Twilio numbers for inbound and outbound voice calls.

This is ideal for businesses that already have Twilio phone numbers with established caller IDs, compliance registrations, or carrier relationships, and want to use them inside SleekFlow without migrating or purchasing new numbers.

ℹ️ Before you start

Before connecting your Twilio number, make sure:

  • Your workspace has the SMS & Voice feature enabled in Feature preview
  • You have a Twilio account with at least one active phone number
  • You have access to your Twilio Console to retrieve credentials
  • You have the “Connect channel” permission in your SleekFlow workspace

Note: If you don't have an API Key yet, you'll need to create one in Twilio Console before starting the connection process. The API Key Secret is shown only once at the time of creation.

Refer to Twilio’s guide on creating API keys in Twilio Console

You can follow the steps below to connect your own Twilio number to SleekFlow:

Step 1: Navigate to SMS and Voice

  1. Click the icon on the left navigation bar to open “Channels”
  2. Select “SMS and Voice” on the left-side panel
  3. Click "Connect Twilio number"

  • API Key SID: The SID of the API Key you created in Twilio Console. Go to Settings > API keys & auth tokens, then copy the API Key SID that starts with SK.
  • API Key Secret: The secret shown when you created the API Key. This is only displayed once in Twilio.
  • Your Twilio phone number: The phone number you want to connect, in E.164 format, , such as +14155550142

Step 3: Configure your connected number

After connecting your phone number to SleekFlow, you will be able to configure the following:

  • Channel name: A friendly display name to identify this number in your inbox
  • Voice calls: Master toggle to enable or disable voice calling capabilities for this number
    • Inbound: Allow this number to receive incoming calls
    • Outbound: Allow agents to make calls from this number
    • Call routing: Configure how inbound calls are routed
      • Route to all available agents: Incoming calls are distributed to any available agent in the workspace using round-robin
      • Route to a team: Incoming calls are distributed to available agents within a specific team using round-robin
      • Route to a specific agent: Incoming calls go directly to a specific assigned agent

Click “Finish setup” to complete the setup. Your number will appear in the SMS and Voice phone numbers list.

ℹ️ If your Twilio number does not support voice calls, the voice toggle will be disabled with the message: "This number does not support voice calls, so voice calling cannot be enabled."

Connecting additional numbers

After your first Twilio number is connected, you can add more numbers from the same Twilio account without re-entering your credentials.

  1. Click “Add phone number” on the SMS and Voice page
  2. Your Account SID and API Key SID are pre-filled
  3. Enter the new phone number
  4. Click “Connect number”

ℹ️  Additional numbers must belong to the same Twilio account as your initial connection. As all phone numbers in a workspace share the same Twilio credentials.

  2. Select SMS and Voice on the left-side panel
  3. Click on a connected number to open the details page

  2. Click on the number you want to remove to open the details page
  3. Click “Remove phone number”

ℹ️  Removing a number from SleekFlow only disconnects it from your workspace. The number remains active in your Twilio account. You can reconnect it at any time by going through the connection process again.

Compliance and regulatory requirements

Brand registration, campaign approval, and regulatory bundles (such as toll-free verification and  A2P 10DLC) are managed directly in your Twilio account, not in SleekFlow.

Make sure your Twilio number has the necessary compliance registrations completed in Twilio Console before connecting it to SleekFlow.

Billing

Usage and billing for connected Twilio numbers are managed directly in Twilio. SleekFlow does not charge additional technical fees for connected Twilio numbers.

All Twilio usage charges — including voice minutes, number rental, and any SMS segments appear on your Twilio invoice. Your SleekFlow subscription is billed separately.

ℹ️  Note: Usage and billing for connected Twilio numbers are managed directly in Twilio. Voice call charges vary by country, phone number type, and call direction. To view the latest rates, refer to Twilio’s Programmable Voice Pricing page.

The SleekFlow SMS and Voice wallet is not used for connected Twilio numbers.
